Summer STEAM Scholarships

The IIAR is a technical association comprised of engineers, end users, contractors, and manufacturers working in the natural refrigeration industry. The organization and its membership develop ANSI-approved safety standards, technical publications, and educational materials to support refrigeration professionals and their use of natural refrigerants.

Application Criteria

Open to undergraduate students entering their Junior or Senior years and attending a four-year accredited college or university. The industrial refrigeration industry is a multi-disciplinary field which offers exciting job opportunities in virtually all engineering fields of study, including but not limited to: Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Environmental, Industrial and Manufacturing, Agricultural, and Chemical Engineering, as well as Computer Science, Automation, and Mechatronics. Engineers working in the industrial refrigeration industry have the opportunity to help address the urgent issue of climate change and reducing greenhouse gas emissions by applying environmentally friendly natural refrigerants in energy efficient refrigeration and heat pump systems. Applicants must be pursuing a degree in one of these fields and have a proven interest in applying their skills in the commercial and industrial refrigeration industry using natural refrigerants Must have completed 45 semester credit hours (or equivalent) or 90 quarter credits at the time of application. Must hold a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (3.75 on a 5.0 scale) towards an engineering degree.

The Kansas Promise Scholarship was created during the 2021 Kansas Legislative Session to assist students attending Kansas community colleges, technical colleges, Washburn Institute of Technology and certain private postsecondary educational institutions and enrolled in specified fields of study, generally in the fields of (1) information technology and security, (2) mental and physical health care, (3) advanced manufacturing and building trades, or (4) early childhood education and development. Your college also has one other eligible program area. Talk with your college about other eligible areas of study that may qualify for this scholarship. This scholarship may be used toward tuition, required fees, books, and required program materials. Your educational institution will determine the amount of your Promise Scholarship award based on information from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) along with other financial aid that you may be receiving.

To enable women to return to physics research careers after having had to interrupt those careers. The fellowship consists of a one-year award of up to $45,000. Allowed expenses include dependent care (limited to 50% of the award), salary, travel, equipment, and tuition and fees. Overhead charges by the institution are not allowed.

 

Application Criteria

Currently be a U.S. or Canadian citizen or legal resident, or resident alien eligible to work in the United States or Canada. The Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) is pleased to announce the Annual I/ITSEC Postgraduate Scholarships. The scholarships are being offered to stimulate student interest and university participation in preparing individuals for leadership in the Modeling & Simulation, Training, and Education communities.
