Scholarships Closing in April 2026: Deadlines College Students Can’t Miss
Planning Your Future
April is a busy month for students. High school students are getting ready to choose their university alma mater, while college students are beginning to prepare for finals, often cramming hours of material into just a few nights.
With so much going on, finding the right opportunities can feel overwhelming. At IOScholarships, we want to make it easier for you to take advantage of opportunities that match you. That’s why every week we post scholarship tips to save students the time of manually searching for scholarships that fit them. You can also save our weekly drops during your nightly TikTok scroll, follow us there!
As scholarship deadlines approach, some students should be especially proactive. College juniors, listen up! If you have never applied to scholarships, this is your time to do so. In fact, if you are not planning to pursue further education, this might be your last chance to apply for most scholarships. If you are graduating in the spring of 2027, the last opportunity you may have could come as early as the fall of 2026. Take advantage of these financing opportunities to lower your tuition fees and lighten your workload, because time is money.
But scholarships offer more than just financial relief. Earning a scholarship allows for more flexibility in your academic calendar and might even keep you from having to take a part-time job at your university’s cafeteria or from your weekend side gig as a DJ. Additionally, scholarships expose recipients to networks of national industry professionals, recruiters, and potential mentors.
Even better, the application process is often more accessible than students expect. Some applications may be more lengthy than others, while some are as simple as submitting a short essay or even a short video. Winning a scholarship may be your foot in the door for your dream job.
For students who want guidance and real-world insight, learning from others can make a big difference. Sometimes students need to hear from people with similar backgrounds. We hope you can draw encouragement and inspiration from our guests on the IOScholarships Superheroes Podcast, where we host diverse students and career experts to discuss the latest innovations making an impact in the STEAM world.
To help you get started, we’ve also included practical resources. Learn how to write an award-winning essay here, with tips from a scholarship recipient!
