Description

Tuition support for graduate students in fields related to environmental management. Individual scholarship awards range in value from $1,000 to $10,000 and will be provided to the recipient’s institution of higher learning to be disbursed to the student for graduate school tuition and supplies. Anchor QEA is committing half of all scholarship funds to Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) students as a step toward dismantling the financial barriers that contribute to inequities in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields.

US-based students, full-time graduate student or person accepted to a United States graduate school, pursuing a major related to Anchor QEA’s areas of expertise (engineering, environmental sciences, planning and restoration, technology and innovation, or a related technical field).

Description

The NextEra Energy Scholarship Program is a postsecondary scholarship to provide renewable, merit-based scholarships to Junior Year students who identify as diverse in ethnic background, who are full-time attendees at four-year colleges and universities and who are majoring in STEM, (excluding healthcare majors) and business disciplines; as well as those seeking technical degrees with a renewable energy focus. Awarded scholars will receive up to $5,000 in their Junior Year and up to $5,000 in their Senior Year.

ASHRAE Society Scholarship

Description

Through its scholarships, ASHRAE seeks to motivate students and prospective students worldwide to pursue an engineering or technology career in the HVAC&R field, part of the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) industry. The Society’s Scholarship Program also serves the public interest by aiding in the education of men and women to become qualified to practice as engineers in HVAC&R. Over the course of 30 years ASHRAE has awarded over $2.25 million to 400+ deserving students.

 

Application Criteria

Re-applications will be accepted from former scholarship applicants/recipients for some scholarships provided they meet current scholarship criteria. Students may only receive one Society scholarship in any given year. Scholarship amounts awarded shall not exceed the direct annual cost of attending the educational institution (i.e. tuition, books, supplies, room and board, etc.) through graduation. A cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 on a scale where 4.0 is the highest and/or a class standing of no less than the top 30% evidenced by an official transcript of grades or written statement from a school administrator. Three letters of recommendation, following the criteria below: From an instructor or faculty advisor. From a current or past employer. From a character reference. *In the case of schools with an ASHRAE student branch, a letter from the faculty advisor of that branch may be one of the three letters of recommendation. Description

The SMART Program, part of the Department of Defense (DoD) science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) portfolio, provides STEM students with the tools needed to pursue higher education and begin a rewarding career with the DoD. With a full scholarship, students pursuing STEM degrees will be able to focus on complex research to further the DoD’s mission and create a lasting impact. Summer internships are performed at DoD facilities alongside scientists and engineers; these experiences prepare scholars for full-time employment and get them accustomed to working with the DoD. SMART is a one-for-one commitment; for every year of degree funding, the scholar commits to working for a year with the DoD as a civilian employee. a citizen of the United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, or United Kingdom at time of application, 18 years of age or older as of August 1, 2024 requesting at least 1 year of degree funding prior to graduation (which starts at the program start date), able to complete at least one summer internship (multi-year scholars only) willing to accept post-graduation employment with the DoD, a student in good standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, pursuing a technical undergraduate or graduate degree in one of the 24 STEM disciplines listed below, able to produce a fall 2023 college transcript from a regionally accredited US college or university, OR be pursuing a graduate degree at a regionally accredited US college or university.
