Rob Cancio is a driven Cuban-American innovator and a 5-year BS/MS Biomedical Engineering student at the University of Miami, where he will be receiving his master’s degree this May. As a two-time tech startup co-founder holding multiple patents in the healthcare and biotech spaces, Rob is deeply committed to building technology that saves lives and revolutionizes modern medicine. Currently, Rob serves as the Director of Product Development at Sivotec Inc. Through his groundbreaking work there, he has helped diagnose 160,000 children with rare diseases across 40 countries, collaborating with 1,600 geneticists worldwide. Always pushing the boundaries of innovation, he is also currently working on developing Neuro-Symbolic Artificial Intelligence for Clinical Decision Support Systems to further improve patient care. Beyond his impressive technical and entrepreneurial endeavors, Rob is a proud member of the Association of Cuban-American Engineers and a recipient of their prestigious Texas Instruments Scholarship. Demonstrating the same relentless dedication and discipline outside the lab, Rob is also a 2-time USRowing National Champion.
